1. Short version
This site sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no cross-site trackers. It uses four small entries in your browser's own local storage so that the interface remembers your preferences between visits. Nothing in those entries is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and clearing your site data removes them completely.
2. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to store and then send back on every subsequent request — which is exactly what makes cookies useful for tracking. Local storage and session storage are different: data stays in the browser and is only read by JavaScript running on the same site. It is never attached to network requests automatically.
We use local storage rather than cookies for preferences precisely because it is not transmitted. Your colour mode never travels across the network, so it cannot be logged, correlated or profiled.

All four are strictly necessary for functions you explicitly requested, which is why the notice on this site is informational rather than a consent gate.
4. What we do not use
- No Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or any equivalent analytics suite.
- No advertising network, no ad exchange, no header bidding, no retargeting pixel.
- No Meta pixel, TikTok pixel, LinkedIn Insight tag or similar conversion tracker.
- No social sharing widgets that phone home — our share buttons are plain links built in your browser and contact nothing until you click them.
- No device or canvas fingerprinting, and no attempt to identify you across sessions.
- No session recording, heat mapping or scroll tracking.
- No consent-management platform, because there is nothing to manage consent for.
5. Why the notice is not a consent wall
Under the ePrivacy Directive and its national implementations, consent is required for storage that is not strictly necessary for a service the user requested. Remembering a colour mode the user selected, and a reminder list the user created, falls within the strictly-necessary exemption. We show a short notice anyway, because telling people what is stored on their device is simply good manners — but we do not pretend to ask for permission we do not need, and we do not make you click through a fake preference centre.
6. Third-party requests
Fonts, icons, stylesheets and scripts are served from this domain. Visiting a page therefore does not announce your visit to a font provider, a CDN operator or an analytics company.
The one exception is photographs, which may be delivered from an image CDN. That CDN necessarily receives the request for the image, including your IP address and user-agent, as any web server would. It sets no cookie we can read and we receive no data back from it. Our published source includes a script that mirrors every image locally, and when it is run the site makes zero third-party requests of any kind.
7. Managing and clearing storage
You can remove everything this site has stored at any time, without breaking anything permanently:
- Clear site data for this domain in your browser settings — this removes all four entries at once.
- Use a private window. Everything is discarded when you close it.
- Block storage for this site. The site still works; it simply forgets your theme and reminders between visits.
- Remove reminders individually by clicking a set reminder again on the schedule page.

9. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honour Global Privacy Control signals. Since we neither sell nor share personal information and perform no tracking, the signal has no effect on your visit — but we state the position explicitly so it is not left to inference. We do not penalise, degrade or gate any part of the site based on privacy signals or blocker use.
10. What breaks if you clear it
Very little, and nothing permanently. The site reverts to your operating system's light/dark preference, the storage notice appears once more, and any fixture reminders you set are forgotten. Articles, schedules, search and every form continue to work exactly as before.
11. Changes
If we ever add a new storage item, this table is updated before the change ships, and the “last updated” date at the top of the page changes with it. If we ever added something that was not strictly necessary — which we have no plan to do — we would ask for consent properly first.
